Les Nuits des Samin (Demo 1999)

After 26 years we decided to release the old Lupercalia Demo in digital as well.

I wrote these songs when I was 17. I just wrote music, but I had no money and no Idea about how to make a recording.

After a few time I met the violinist Pierangelo Fevola, he was a sculptor/musician who plaid his handmade electric violin, then I started to do some part time job and I could buy a Korg Synthetizer.

A Few time later my friend Davide della Monica helped me to record it in one day.
This was the cassette that I shipped to World Serpent Distribution in 1999 (the former label of Death in June, Current 93 and Anthony and the Johnsons), and that originated our first full lenght album “Soehrimnir”.

This sound comes directly from the old DAT cassettes, some parts were damaged, so you will hear some “glitch” in the beginning, but I decided to keep the full recording however.

Special thanks to:
Davide della Monica, Massimo Aluzzi and Giuseppe Polito for helping me to transfer these old and damaged analogue DAT cassettes in digital. Special thanks to Alan Trench from World Serpent for encouraging me to start.

I consider this stuff very “green”, but still an important memory for me as a young teenager composer in the neofolk music scene.

these Songs had been rerecorded in different versions and included in Soehrimnir, one year later

thanks for your support
